Turner Studios is one of few companies in North America to own a Milo Motion Control Unit. This portable motion control system features a solid portable platform with eight axes of robotic control for visual effects that require repeatability and precise control of camera movement. It's ideal for shooting stop motion, miniatures and models, high speed & slow motion, time lapse, table top work and live action that's combined with animation.
Take a behind the scenes look at how the MILO Motion Control Camera plays a key role in producing a special effects scene, utilizing computer generated imagery and the efficiency of using pre-visualization: Making the Edge. Normal image acquisition is 35mm film, but the Milo also supports both HD and SD video.
Included in the rental of Turner Studio’s MILO is a state of the art Cockpit2 digital video assist system, which includes 2 director’s monitors, client monitor, video mixer, trigger box, time code reader and generator. Cockpit2 includes record and playback capabilities at any frame speed and the system stores each take in a database where it can be quickly retrieved for on set review.
